Little Miss Cross the Line

Breakfast is always served down stairs either in the bar or the other dinning area, and these is always eggs, veggies, bacon, sausage, french toast, home fries, fruit, yogurt, cereal and juice. Usually we sit alone but today we sat with a few IT guys. Oh I guess I should tell you that the Radisson does a breakfast every morning and we get coupons for M-F so we don't have to pay for it. It is very nice and that way I don't have to heat up one of those Jimmy Dean things Jabin has in our mini fridge. So to the IT guys, we say with John and Bob, John was one of the guys who went with us to Swifty's last week. Bob is a new one for me and he is very nice. I managed to make them laugh with my input. Bob has 3 kids I think, 1 daughter who is going to school at Syracuse. She moved into an apt with 2 other girls and right off the bat I told him, "yup that will never end in a good way" he laughed because his daughter moved out very quickly. I have learned from experience that is for sure, 3 is ALWAY a crowd living with women.

So on to the rest of the day, I dropped Jabin off like each morning and headed back to the hotel. Got the billing for the hotel moved around, oh and that reminds me I have to call the storage guy Eddie today to tell him we are storing with him until we can move into our house here.

Ill be back..... welp I had to leave a message.

So I get back and Jabin tells me that Michelle and Bob want to take us to dinner so they can give me list of things to do while Jabin is at work, I'm okay with that, a good meal and they are really funny :).

Today I went shopping at the mall, the Sangertown Square. It's pretty nice and has all the good stores I think. I manged to get out with a pair of

Gray pants for Jabin

A denim button down, and a gray and floral tank for me

Wow seeing all the pictures together it all looks pretty bland and the same color, oh well.

Then of course I needed to go into the home decor store, Kirklands. This place is addicting for me! I could just buy it all up and decorate our home with it. Here is a little self portrait while I was there.

What else, oh here is a good one, I really like these curtains!

Oh and to end today's entry Michelle and Rob came up to Jabin and said "We're going to need a verbal confirmation that you guys are okay with drinking and don't get easily offended." And what was Jabin's response you ask?!! Jabin says "Well Natalie is knows as the line crosser." Oh Jabin you know me too well!

See you later!

Moving Out Date!

It is official we have to be out of the house in Gardner on May 30th! The only let down is that we still don't have a closing date on the house in NY, which means we will have to store all of our stuff and then live in the hotel again.

Mini Vent - I had written something here and decided that I don't need to put any thing negative on this happy blog :) I let it sit here for about 10 mins, I got it out of my system and decided to delete it, go me!

So hopefully we are into the new house within the month of June, I am hopeful and I just wish we could get a date, that way we have something tangible and within reach. I am so ready to cook for my husband and do our laundry and be a wife.

It has been nice to spend time with each other without having an agenda that is for sure, but I'm a do'er. I can hangout for so long before I'm busting at the seams to do something be it trying to bake or doing something crafty in my craft room or working on house stuff with Jabin.

So we have been up to a few things since the last past. We ordered a pizza from O'Scuginzzo Pizzeria. I was a little skeptical when we got it because this is what I saw when I opened the box,

PIZZA WITH THE SAUCE ON TOP OF THE CHEESE WHAT THE HECK?

But holy moley! It was very very good! We can order when you come to visit.

That was Saturday night I think.

Sunday morning we did a little shopping and a little window shopping at a local furniture store. There was a lot stuff "cabin" like stuff that I can see my Dad and Step-Mom liking for sure. There was however a sea-foam green leather couch and chair that I loved and Jabin surprisingly saw first and liked too! Maybe one day he said, it would match some of our other decor items we have already. I'd add a pic but I didn't take one, that way if I still want it in a few years and they still have it, it wasn't just a "craving" :). My Grams taught me that. If I can leave it for a while and I still want it then, it must mean I really want it.

Sunday was also moved back to the Radisson thanks to Jabin's company. They said after the inspections go through then they would like us to move back to the Radisson. The Radisson is where all of the DeIorio's visitors stay. We are so lucky and they are so nice!

Last night we went to a place call Voss'. It is suppose to be the best hot dog joint in the area.

I must say they are probably some of the best hot dogs I have ever had and I love me some hot dogs! I got one with chili, cheese and onions, and then 2 with ketchup, onions and sweet relish, yummy! (If I get onions I don't have to share with Jabin :)) Jabin got 3 with ketchup, mustard and relish I believe. (If he gets mustard he doesn't have to share) We also got fries, and it was all very yummy. They use letters to call out your order and we got V.

Sorry the pic is sideways but I don't know how to fix it.

So more about the move, we are using the Moovers (this is how you spell it) out of Kansas City, Jabin and Paul used them to move the apartment to the house in Gardner. I will try to pack as much as I can when I am back in town but they can pack what I don't get to. It's nice became I can pack and they can pack! They will pack it up on May 28th and then start driving to NY on the 29th. The people who load it up will be the same people who drive the truck and they will be the only people who drive the truck so that is nice. A lot of the other companies were saying they trades drivers a few times and it would take up to 2+wks for us to get out stuff in NY and sometimes it never arrives :-/. Now that we don't have a move in date it wouldn't be so bad to wait 2 wks for our stuff, maybe then we wouldn't have to pay to store our stuff. Oh well it will work out how it is suppose to. The Moovers will have our stuff to NY in 2.5 days so we will store on the 31st. Again I hope not for long!

We are going to leave KS officially on the 29th of May. Bittersweet for sure. We will clean the last bits of the house and then head out. My cousin Allison will ride with me in my car and then hopefully Jabin's friend Paul can ride with him. A road trip with our bff's and if you know Paul or Allison you know we will have a hoot for sure.

Our schedule is going to be pretty hectic for the next two weeks. I leave NY to KC on the 18th, then off to FL for Memorial Day weekend, I am shooting a wedding for a college friend. Jabin is meeting me in FL. We are excited for our mini vaca. Then back to KC to pack and move on the 25th! Busy bees but we are lucky to be able to do all of this traveling. Well maybe luck has nothing to do, Jabin is such a hard worker and I can thank him for all of these amazing opportunities. Thank you babe!

I think that is all I have this time!

Inspections All Around!

The past two days have been kind of eventful. Let's start with last night!

Last night Jabin and I had a date night. A month or so ago we had dinner with our friend Kacie and her family she told us she bought us a "house warming" gift. She bought us a gift card for Aqua Vino, a very yummy restaurant on the canal. Our reservation were at 7:30pm. Now the goods, what we ate!

We started with a few drinks, Jabin a vodka tonic and a cosmo for me. Then we had the BEST calamari I think we had both ever had. It's funny here they pronounce it calima, I'm sure I sounded super country when I said calimaREEE! Then on to 2 slightly over dress salads, but they were good. Jabin's entree was Haddock Oreganato with a side of pasta with marinara (pronounced marinod) hehe these people talk so funny! He said it was pretty good. I had a Utica original, Chicken Riggies, which is just chicken pieces mixed into a spicy marinara sauce, rigatoni noodles and it had green pepper too.  Jabin says that Chicken Riggies was what the wait staff would throw together at the end of a long night of serving, putting all the leftovers together over pasta. Each restaurant has a different version of it here. Then of course we couldn't stomach anymore food so we took our white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to go! I'm getting filled up just thinking about how stuffed we were last night!

This is a view of the restaurant from the bridge over the canal
Under the awning is where you go in to sit and eat. It was too chilly to sit outside or that is where we would have been. (after a proof reading Jabin says it wasn't too chilly I'm just a big weenie)

And for the events of today! We got great news, after the buyers of the house in KC reviewed the inspection report they are not asking us to do ANYTHING to the house! Apparently this is unheard of! Great news for us! We officially have to be completely out of the house by May 30th! It's getting so real!

Here are a few pictures on our drive to the house

This is the front view, side and back of what we were seeing on the way out there

And of course I can't not put a picture of my handsome husband in this blog!

On to the inspection we did with our main guy Frank on the house here in NY (we didn't know Frank but after spending 2+hrs with him he seems pretty cool) He is a VERY through inspector and that is probably because he loves his job. Apparently he was a contractor and a few other things, and this is the first job he has enjoyed doing. We did a walk around and I took a few more pictures,

this is a few of the front finally, from left to right, there are two smaller rooms, each having one of those windows on the left, then is one of the master bedrooms and then the "real" front door that we will probably never use :)

Below is a picture of the house before it was a house! Good old Shell gas station and convenience store

Out back and to the left is an old barn that is going be torn down in the next few weeks too. We like the look but it doesn't seem such a good idea for little ones one day.
while the boys were down in the seller doing more of the inception I decided to take a picture of all the pretty flowers! These right next to the driveway in the front, again we love the landscaping!

On to the nitty gritty of the inspection, there were a few minor things like 2 plugs not being grounded in the kitchen, a fixture cover here, no railing there. And then a few things we will need to address soon. The roof over the old what us to be the garage needs a little repair on the roof, in the seller a support beam is bowing so it will need a jack or two and then the house has NO gutters, who has a house without gutters?!?! (we might apparently ;-) ) We are asking the sellers to put in the support jacks and fix the roof and they have agreed to both. Putting gutters on a house is not a "inspection" type of thing I guess so we will be in charge of those, oh YAY! All in all this whole inspection thing has been pretty smooth!

After the inspection we went to see a movie, a movie I have been wanting to see since I saw the first trailer!

It was great!!! So was the popcorn! Jabin says popcorn is 1 of my major food groups. Now we are sitting in the hotel while Jabin watches "The Day After Tomorrow" and I write this. Of course he will proof read, lucky for you guys!

Until next time.....

Uncle Jon to the Rescue!

Well the last few hours have been pretty eventful! I pick Jabin up from work around 3 and hung out for a little bit, met another person, Mike. He is a sales rep. Talked to Jim, I haven't talked about him yet he is Jabin's "boss" for right now. After Jabin's 90 day review he will be flying solo. He's a pretty nice guy, he reminds me of a PE coach, always has a smile too.

So we decided to leave DeIorio's and follow the route to the new house. It is a very pretty drive with lots of hills. You pass a few parks, a few playgrounds and the golf course. After we drove past the house we decided to go to the Ice Cream Factory and holy moley its awesome ice cream. Jabin got a scoop of banana cream pie and salted caramel and I got mint lightening and black raspberry. This will definitely be a place we take our visitors. Don't forget cash only!

So on the way to the Ice Cream Factory I get a text from our Realtor telling me that our sump pump isn't working. If you don't already know it wasn't kicking on like it should and we had Uncle Jon come check it out one night. He added something and it was fixed. Thank you Uncle Jon. Any who I called Uncle Jon when the Realtor told me this and he said well all the inspector needs to do is lift the bulb but if he wants to call me he can. I called our Realtor back and asked her to call Uncle Jon. She then tells me that the inspector does inspections for a living, this is his job he knows what he is doing. I said well apparently not because the "new" sump pump isn't working the way he is trying to work it. Lisa our Realtor gets super snotty with me and of course being the level headed young lady I am, I gave that crap right back to her. Now I later realized that this isn't the way to act and I will try to work on it. A few minutes later I get a call from Uncle Jon saying "I hope you aren't paying them"  he is so silly sometimes. He explained to the inspector how he needs to test it. Turns out the inspector didn't think of testing it the "other" way. Hence Uncle Jon to the Rescue. This is one thing that would have been an issue on our inspection report. Lisa then sends me a few texts saying they got it fixed and it is now working, thanks for saving the day. I did respond, "Great news, thank you!"

The only other issue so far is that the garage door senors are screwed to the ceiling of the garage right next to the motor of the opener facing each other. So we will just need to move them if they ask. We aren't offering anything.  Fingers crossed :)

Phew, no more updates today!

Bump in the Road

Well there is a little hiccup in our inspections for the Sauquoit house here in NY. It has been  postponed until this Saturday. Today is still the biggest inspection, the one of the house in Gardner! So enough of me being a downer.

Last night we went to dinner with a few of Jabin's coworkers again. We went to Ancora, and its pretty cool how the whole town seems to know the DeIorio's team. This time it was Rob (CEO), Michelle (CFO), Bryan (Vice President of Operations), John (Efficiency Consultant; he looks into ways to automate or just improve what the company is currently doing) I can't say enough how impressed I am with the people of this company. Every time I meet a new person it feels like I am part of the DeIorio's family. I am very excited for what is to come. Each one of them has their own endearing quality. They are also huggers, and if you know me I'm not a huge fan of shaking people's hands, I'd rather hug them :)

Conversation was very fun too, Jabin and I talked with Rob the most we sat closer to him. I was a copy cat when it came to ordering also. The chef Jason made crab cakes (I'm not sure if we ordered it or not) but they were AWESOME, then comes fig and garlic flat bread with a blasamic drizzle, fried meat balls, and Utica greens. I love trying things even though I don't think I will like them. Usually I get pleasantly surprised. So we all know that I am not a fan of meat and I have always proclamined that I do NOT like seafood. So naturally I piggy backed Michelle, Rob and John's off the menu order. We had filet mignon, shrimp and lobster risotto. In one word, YUMMY! I know there is a specific name for it but I don't remember. Jabin got the special, they had fresh salmon come in yesterday, he had a salmon filet on top of a risotto with peas I believe, he said it was pretty yummy also. Then came desert vanilla creme brulee with fresh sugared strawberries and whipped cream, I could have easily eaten the whole thing alone but I was already stuffed. As we were leaving I said something about needing to blog about this evening so our families would be able to hear about. To my surprise John and Bryan were very impressed with it all, they even asked to get the link so they would read too.

We are so lucky to be able to experiences all of these things. Late afternoon yesterday Jabin was contacted by the company in Gardner he tried to get a job with a few months ago. They twiddled their thumbs in creating a job for him for so long that we took another opportunity and but all be damned if they didn't contact Jabin to tell him that there was a job opening now. All in all we both know we have made the right decision to move here and start a new adventure. Things happened in this order for a reason. So we will take  the saying everyone has repeated to us multiple times "Thing will happen how they are suppose to." Granted we would love to live closer to our families and friends but we honestly think we will probably cherish the moments with them more now that we live so far away. We are very lucky to have the support team that we do to be able to make such a huge decision. What better for a new marriage then to move it far away and only be able to depend on each other for support? Our cousin Mandy has always told us that she thinks this is the best for any new couple to build a strong a forever lasting marriage and friendship.

I think that is all I have for today. See you next time!

Sunny Days

The past day or so have been less then eventful, unless you count me getting lost even with a GSP eventful? I seem to be in the wrong lane every time it is time to turn. But I guess that means I find some pretty cool stuff.

House wise we have an inspection scheduled for tomorrow, conveniently the same day as our inspection for the house in Gardner. Fingers crossed it all goes well. The owners of the house told us that they are replacing part of the rubber roof over the old garage part of the house so that is very nice too. We both think the only thing we have to add is an actually garage.

Yesterday we went to dinner with a few of Jabin's coworkers, the new operations guy who Jabin kind of knew from Sara Lee, Bryan, Gloria in Q/A, Jim the guy helping with the new system who doesn't work for DeIorios, and Michelle the CFO. Oh and my correction from the post before, Rob is the CEO/President of DeIorios. We had a lot of fun and we went to a pub type place called Swifty's.

We tried something we had never had, ruben spring rolls, I am not a fan of the ruben sandwich but these were awesome! Then of course I went with a wrap and Jabin went with fish and chips.

The weather has been amazing here for the few days we have been back, a little chilly in the morning and then really warm in the afternoon and evening. The next few days it suppose to be rainy and then a little chilly at the beginning of the week. Nothing to complain about though.

Tonight we are going to dinner with Rob (CEO) and Bryan the new Operations guy so that should be fun. I'm sure most people would be bored listening to their husband talk about their work but I love listening and seeing Jabin's passion when he talks, I also get to see his coworkers look at him and they see it too.

Well I think that wraps it up for now!

First Things First

Well I have never been much of a blogger so we will see how this goes......

As you all know we are starting a new chapter on top of a new chapter of our life, first marriage now a new home in Upstate New York. We are so excited and so nervous and its completely overwhelming, but if  anyone can do it - Jabin and I can!

Yesterday we left our home in Gardner with Larry and Debra at 4am :( way too early for us but we do what we have to do.

This is Jabin waiting for our flight out of Detroit's Airport. So Cheery he is!

We got to town and of course I am chomp'n at the bit to see the home we have a contract on. I am so impatient. We drove by around Noon and our meeting with the Realtor there wasn't until 6:30. So we decided to do a creep-by so I can see the front of the house.

This is the only teaser I got until 6:30 that night. And this is all I am going to show until it is official. We did a walk through and of course I love it just as much as Jabin did the first time he saw it, we have such similar taste.

After the viewing we actually sat down with the owners of the house, our Realtor and signed the revised contract. Then we were off to Symeon's with our team of Realtor's and their significant others. It was a lot of fun.

Today I dropped Jabin off at work, got ready and I will head out on an adventure soon, I'm going to visit Target! Yay! I know this isn't a big deal but I have to find everything here. I never thought it would be so hard to listen to the GPS and actually follow it. I have always kind of known where I was going.

Jabin is really liking his job, he is very busy that is for sure, but that just proves that they needed him and they appreciate him also. Today the CFO (I think that is what he is) he asked Jabin how all of the house stuff is going and gave us congrats on getting the house under contract in Gardner, and that he is praying for us. Also that he knows traveling every week is hard on both of us. He lives in South Carolina and is up here recently every week. The whole company seems like a family and I am so thankful Jabin likes it. I am so proud of him!

Well I think that is enough today, we will see what the next few days have in store for us!
